Tuesday, Nov 1. Fundamentals of Risk Transfer (Obligors, Insurers, Reinsurers and Others)

This annually updated one-day seminar provides a soup-to-nuts survey of risk transfer structures for protection products offered through F&I offices. Beginning with the risks assumed by any vehicle buyer, we review the protection products our industry has developed to mitigate those risks, who the various risk-taking entities are, what their obligations are, why the many risk transfer options exist, how risk transfer is managed, and what alternatives are available for transferring risk to U.S. as well as offshore entities. Extensive information is provided on taxation of risk-taking entities. It is an ideal overview for those new to the industry, but every industry professional will find insights to deepen their understanding and increase real world implementation of the concepts. We expect about 30 attendees.

Wednesday, Nov 2. Tax, Reinsurance, and Reinsurance Domiciles (and a lot more)

This conference event covers tax, accounting, and risk transfer issues affecting vehicle dealers and risk-taking entities of F&I office protection products. Industry experts will present and discuss 2010-11 federal income tax rulings, marketplace evolution, reinsurance domiciles, and accounting issues affecting vehicle dealers, obligors, insurers, and reinsurers. We will discuss events transpiring in the U.S. and in offshore regulatory environments since our last conference. This day-long conference event assumes the attendee has basic knowledge of the subject matter, but it is nearly the only public learning option available for a person new to the industry. We expect 70-plus attendees.

Thursday, Nov 3. Products and Structures: Innovations and Evolution

Every year, protection products and contractual approaches are introduced or modified. During this conference event, we cover contractual promises, product development, contractual provisions and drafting, emerging loss experience, loss trends, and reserving techniques. We prepare attendees for 2012, discussing trends and providing updates on events, products, and innovations transpiring since last year's conference. This event is valuable for anyone involved in designing, marketing, implementing, administering, pricing, or insuring any F&I protection products. We expect 60-plus attendees.
